Every piece of stoneware clay is carefully crafted with a variety of specialist tools, such as metal kidneys and wooden ribs, to scrape and sculpt. The process is long and considered, resulting in an extremely unique smooth finish that is achieved by repeatedly burnishing it with metal spoons and pebbles.
She discovered early on that it was possible to leave the clay naked so I started mixing oxides and stains into the clay, which produces pastel shades.
